What Is Bronchial Infection: What Is Bronchitis?

Bronchitis (bron KI tis) is a condition in which the bronchial tubes become inflamed. Both chief types of bronchitis are acute (short term) and chronic (continuing). Lung irritants or infections cause acute bronchitis. Chronic bronchitis is an on-going, serious condition. Chronic bronchitis is a serious, long-term medical condition.
